Winter Came

Winter has officially arrived in Rexburg. It was been cold and snowy since Friday and I believe there is more to come and it is here to stay.

I have been working at the office a lot lately. My co worker is a college student and he went home for 3 weeks so I have to cover the office. I found a nanny on craigslist (I have never been so spoiled) She comes to my house picks Gabe up from Preschool, takes the kids on outings, cook, and even CLEANS). It is just what my doctor should have ordered because me stress levels are at a climax.

I am Back

Well for all of you that are wondering if I am still alive I am. Don't know what happened except I haven't been on the computer much at home. I started working a lot of hours this fall at the office instead of working at home and thus had no desire to get back onto a computer.

We are almost at the end of a very long journey. My husband is about to graduate with his Master's this will happen around the 15th of December. I can't tell you how happy I am that he is going to be done. He already has a new job and is going to start on Dec. 1st. It is in Idaho Falls so he will be commuting. Our townhouse has depreciated about $2000 in the last year so it is not a good time to sale, so we will just stay here. We bought a Toyota Yaris for Mike to drive to work. It can get 40 mpg on the hwy.

Thanks for reading my blog, maybe I will get better once my husband starts working full time and I can cut back on my hours.

Lacey's Modeling Weekend

I will let them speak for themselves. Special thanks to Kristin (my sister for taking the pictures) she is for hire, if you need some pictures.

Our Modeling Weekend

These top pictures I was modeling my sister in law's wedding dress. If anyone is interested in it let me know, we do have lots more pictures but I was just posting the one's that were really of me. She is going to post them on craig's list.

This is my wedding dress. It is also for sale. I couldn't believe that I actually fit into my wedding dress. Yeah!!!! Mine is also on craig's list.

OK isn't this just the cutest. My sister made this bow to look vintage to go with the dress. I love this outfit. I have another post to make of all of Lacey's pictures.

ThErE sHe GoEs

I still can hardly believe that she learned to pedal so young. I have to really keep an eye on her, because she has been know to take right off and ride down to the playground.

The D&C went well. I even went to work the next day. Physically it was not a big deal, and I think getting all of the hormones out of my body is helping my ezcema to get better.

I am doing much better, and promise to start blogging more positive blogs. I am back at the gym and I am determined to get back on a diet.

Update

Well, I have decided to do the D&C. They were able to make an appointment for Thursday at 10:30. I was really nervous to do it the natural way.

Also I got my first stitches today. My family doctor took a sample of my spots. I went there today and she called her dermatologist friend and he suggested that she take a sample of my skin. I am just full of unpleasant experiences lately.

A Sad Day

Well My doctor's appointment was actually today. We did a vaginal ultrasound and found out that I had misscarried. Apparently I had a rather large sac that the baby should be in but there was no baby. The doctor even said that if I took another urine pregnancy test that it would show up positive because of the sac that is still in me. Which I have to eventually get ride of either with a D&C or the natural way. So if anyone has any advice on that. I guess this is what I get for telling everyone so soon. But at least I can post the news on here and it will get passed around quickly without having to retell the story over and over.

The doctor did say that it was from nothing that I did it was either a bad sperm or a bad egg.

I think April

I am not really sure but I think it will be around April when the baby is due. I have an appointment Thursday so I should find out then. Another crazy idea. I am thinking that my ezema may be caused from the pregnancy and not from an allergic reaction because I am still getting new spots. Anyone know of anyone braking out with ezema when they are pregnant?

My life Changes

Well this is for all of you out there that haven't heard the news yet. This is also my excuse for not blogging so much. My bed is just more appealing now than the computer. Also it may explain all my mood swings (as via my last post).

Me and the kids on the second day of my class reunion.

My cutest little girl.

Lacey's changes

Well, the good news is that Lacey learned to petal a bicycle this week. She is actually really good at it now, but she can really get herself into trouble as well by riding into the road so I have to really keep an eye on her. She thinks she is so grown up now because she can ride a bike like the big kids. I keep meaning to take a little video of her riding you would be so amazed, it really is something.

So we went to WIC 2 days ago and they made me feel guilty enough to finally take Lacey's bottle away. She has been using one to help her go to sleep. Anyway it has been just has hard as I thought it would be. She has been trying to fall asleep now for 3 hours. She didn't take a nap and she went to bed late last night because of the same issue so I thought for sure she would be so hammered that I could put her to bed at 7:00. Well it is almost 10:00 and I just heard a cry. Do I give up or keep trying?

So I have been working about 5-6 hours a day from home mostly, few hours here and there at the office. It becomes pretty much consuming because everytime I have a calm moment with the kids I am working. It doesn't leave me much time to enjoy my children or clean the house, or to even unwind. I haven't even watch any olympics or any TV for that matter in weeks.

I read all of these blogs of yours and I think I am not a very good mom. Maybe you guys are only posting the good stuff. It seems lately that It has only been hard stuff in my life. I could really use a vacation with my kids and husband, or at least a change. Mike isn't going to get as many hours this fall because grade school is starting and they past a law saying that you can't work with school age kids before school hours are out. Anyway I will be working more, but at least it will be at the office and Mike will be home with the kids thus actually giving me a brake. Maybe it won't be bad after all.

Camping

So we decided to go camping tomorrow morning. It is a last minute thing. We are going up past kelly canyon so we can ride the 4 wheeler. I will bring the camera.

The last Post about my Skin Problem

With some insight from my mother and my sister Angie I may have found out what caused these spots (finally). My mom and my sister are allergic to Amoxicillian and they brake out in hive's when they take it. I did take some Amoxiciallian just before I started braking out with this nummual eczema. So I am going to say that I am allergic to amoxiciallian as well.

Anyway I got a kenaloge shot and more allergy medicine and steroid cream and they are finally going away. I am so glad :) I will never take my skin for granted again, and I will never be taking amoxicillian again either.

This shows some spots on my leg. The spots started out red but as they are healing more and more they are flaky more like eczema.

All Alone

So My husband is is Missoula MT today (16 hour day) going to school. He always travels to Montana on Monday's with about 4 other people. My children are in Aberdeen with Grandma and Grandpa Oldfield, hopefully having a great time.

I am still at work. I volunteered to work full time at the office Monday and Tuesday because everyone is gone, thus the reason that my children are in Aberdeen. I am still at the office because i just keep working because I really don't have any reason to go home. It is a weird feeling for me to have no family responsibilities today.

My spots are slowly starting to heal, they have been an emotional drain on me.

I found a new song that I love "All I want is you" by Tristian Prettyman. Playlist doesn't have it or I would put it on my blog. But itunes does.

The Spot's Update

Well I went to the doctor today, which on a side note only cost me $23 total (including a free prescription). I found this doctor in St Anthony that charges accordin to your income. It is awesome. Anyway, I was diagnosed with (Hot Tub) Folliculitis. I got it from the hot tub at Heise when we went camping. It is a baterial infection so she put me on Cephalexin (antibiotic). hopefully I will get better soon..

You are at the right Blog

Yes I changed it again. I have been working on the blog template ever since I put the last one up. I am so happy with it and promise not to change it for a long time.

Little Red Spots

So I have getting all of these little red spots all over my body. They are everywhere and I am getting more and more. I was getting pretty nervous today because I didn't know what they were from. Anyway I finally talked to a friend of mine at the gym (and showed them to her) she suggested that it was a fungus and asked if I had recently been to the Rexburg Splash Park. Well as you all know, I have. She got it herself a few weeks ago and if going to bring me the cream tomorrow. Sure hope it works or I will have to make another trip to the doctor.

Memories

Here is a fun little game... leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time or a long time, anything that you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.It is pretty funny to read the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you are playing and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. On your mark... get set... blog those memories!

Yeah we finally went camping

This picture is actuall at Ross park in Pocatello (Not camping, I went there with my sister Kristin and my sister in law Tami) We had a really good time. Lacey is in the blue suit with the hat.

So we finally went camping this summer. We brought our enclosed 4 wheeler trailer and slept in it. It worked out really good. It was easy to take down camp when everything is in the trailer and ready to go. We went with my mom and dad and Kristin and her family and my brothers Kory and Shawn (and family) came up for a day. So we camped next to this climbing rock. My sister took this picture while I was off 4 Wheeling. I really like the picture.

We went swimming too at Heise. Gabe went on the water slide 6 times. He loved it......Lacey actually was swimming with her arm muscle blow up things. She would put her head up high and stretch out and sometimes her face would go in the water and then she would just spit it out. I was proud of my kids but it was really stressful because they have no fear of the water.

Princess Lacey

We found this dress at a yard sale and the crown is from her birthday. We ended up giving this dress to her little cousin Elizabeth because it is actually too small.

Uploading Problems

So I was going to put some pictures on my blog but I keep getting an internal error message. My sister Janel was going to start her new blog and she is getting the same message. Did anyone else get this message?

I have been in Blackfoot since Saturday. I came down for a break from my busy life and I just keep staying longer and longer. I do plan on going home Tuesday afternoon, however. We went to the Ross Park swim park in Pocatello today. It was a lot of fun. Lacey and Gabe were like fish in the the water. Their cousins Elizabeth, Kason and Kash had a good time as well.

Water Park

So we have been going to the Spray Park in Rexburg quit a bit lately. We were so excited for the warm weather to finally get here. So about the title picture.....Aren't my photography skills getting a little bit better????

I wanted to share a few cute things that Gabe has said lately.

Mom.. "Grandpa's honey has a sister that looks just like her" Interpretation (Grandma Oldfield has a twin sister)

Mom.."Are we going to the boy's house that has circle hair like Lacey?"

Birthday Update

I am about to announce my final birthday present from my brother Shawn and his wife Diane............

These very nice dishes. REALLY I am way excited to get dishes. Mine are all broken and silly looking. Thanks Shawn and Diane

This is the card that Gabe made me for my birthday. Isn't it cute!!

My Birthday

So I turned 33 today. Getting older.... But it's not too bad. I have a lot of experience to show for it. Glad some of it is in the past and I am glad I don't know what is in the future.

Gabe and I went to see Kung Fu Panda at the theater last night as part of my birthday party. It was a really cute movie and funny too (even for adults). After that we meet up with Shane, Lacey, Shawn and Diane at the Thai restaurant. I was worried that the kids wouldn't eat anything but they actually ate better than if we were at McDonald's.

Today I made myself my favorite dishes: meatloaf, broccoli salad and brownies. We had our neighbors over for dinner. It was a nice time and the kids had a good time running all over the house.

Lacey gave me a nice present: Went to bed at 7:00
Gabe gabe me: A homemade card that he glued together and drew happy faces on it.
Shane (Mike) : gave me a clock radio that me ipod will plug into and play.
Mom: gave me a bag, which I love. (note: I can never have too many bags and purses)
Shawn and Diane: said that they have something for me but it is 9:48 and I haven't seen them yet. So it will have to be a mystery too all of you reading this.

Special Interst groups

So I recommended to my relief society president today that we should have a blogger special interest group. I thought that we could make a relief society blog and then have a list of links of all the women that had blogs in the ward on the RS blog. I did think that we could get together once a month to share ideas and teach new people how to start a blog. What do you think?

It's been too long

Wow I can't believe I haven't blogged at all in June. Is this what happens in the summer time? Well the weekend before last we went to my Grandma's 80th birthday party. We really enjoyed ourselves and got to see lots of relatives. On the 12th Lacey turned 2 years old and we had a little party here at the house. On Saturday we went to the airplane show. It was fun but the traffic was really bad.

Lacey and cousin Adele at Grandma's Birthday party dressed in a like shirts that my sister decorated.
Great grand kids that were at the 80th birthday party.

We went to storybook park after the party in Burley. It is a really neat park. I will put more pictures of it later.

Memorial Day

We just got back from our weekend. We stayed home Friday and Saturday and got alot done. Then we went to Pocatello on Sunday to see Shane's (Mike) grandpa in the hospital. He has been in the hospital a lot lately. After that we went to Aberdeen and stayed with his family, we went to the semetary to see Bonnie (Shane's mother) grave with the kids. It was decorated really nice, it was a little hard being there, we have only been there about one other time. We really miss Bonnie. She was a great mother in law. She would spoil me pretty good and she thought that I was an angel that had come to find her son. She died before Gabe and Lacey were born, she would have been a really great Grandma. A few years before she died she started making baby blankets. We have received 2 of them one for Gabe and one for Lacey. Lacey has both of them right now. They look alot a like but with different backside prints. They are Lacey's favorites blankets and won't go to sleep without one of them. I find that interesting. Also if you admired Lacey's curly hair you can also thank grandma Bonnie for that. Bonnie had really curly hair too and passed that on to Lacey.

And also special thanks to Shawn and Diane for watching our children. Thank You.

IPod Users & Book Readers

So I discovered that on itunes under Podcasts you can get the Book of Mormon on audio form for free. You can also get general conference and the ensign for free. It was so easy to download and put on my ipod.

Also if you didn't know I am way into Audible.com (thanks to my 2nd cousin Audrey Murdock Preston) Audible is audio books. I can listen to a book in about 3 days without disrupting my lifestyle at all. It is great. So my sister wanted me to read the book the 5 Languages of Love. I just finished it today, it is a really good book.....All married people or people about to get married need to read this book. It will change you marriage. I am so excited for my husband to listen to it to. Since he commutes to Montana once a week he should be able to listen to it in one day. Thanks Janel (my sister) for recommending it to me.

For those of you that have read the book. I think my love language is Quality Time.

A Bad Morning

So I was awakened this morning by my son at 5:00 am with the aroma of diarrhea. It wasn't until we were in the bathroom that I noticed diarrhea was all the way down both of his legs. I put him in the shower and then I noticed their was a trail of pooh all the way down the hall and into his bedroom. I was scared to look at his bed but knew that I needed to. I noticed his boxer shorts first (very bad) I lifted them up and saw the real mess laid before me on his bed. It was huge mess. For all of you thinking that it couldn't be as bad as one of your experiences you have to remember that my son is 4 years old.

Later today I realized the colperette of this disaster. I was also having some of these symptoms today and thought what did we eat. Well it wasn't that had to discover that Sunday evening Gabe was pretty hungry and I was in desperate need for a treat. So we both pigged out on Fiber one bars. I had 4 of them and Gabe had 2. So yes we overdosed on Fiber and got a good colin cleanse of out it.

Sandunes

So we went to the sand dunes again today. It was so much fun. Today we really went swimming. The water is shallow so it is really good for little kids. We are planning to go to the dunes and the lake often this summer.

Lacey swimming by herself in the shallow water

Daddy coming back from a ride on our four wheeler.

Gabe building sand towers.

Landscape of a very small part of the sand dunes.

No, not a yard sale...Just us trying to keep our stuff out of the sand. We did bring a sheet to sit on but the kids kept getting sand on it so I had to shake it out often.

My children are addicted to root beer milk and chocolate milk. I told Gabe earlier that we could ride our bikes to the playground......Later on he was whinnying for a root beer milk, I told him that if he had a rb milk we couldn't go to the playground on our bikes........Well a little later I find him behind the pantry door drinking a rb milk.......so I have to stick to my word and I and next time he asked about the bike ride I said "I am sorry you chose to drink the milk instead of go the going to the playground.".....Well it has been drama ever since and it still is...He is in his room crying and crying. I sure hope he will learn a lesson.

Happy Mother's Day

We went to my mom's house for mothers day today. It was really nice, We went to there sacrament meeting and had a really nice dutch oven dinner that my dad made.

I got myself a new dress and my hair colored for mothers day. Check out my blonde hair. The kids made me some homemade cards and my husband got me a nice card. He loved my hair and gave me lots of compliments on how nice and sexy I looked. So that was a pretty good present in my mind.
Here is a close up that I took

My New Bike and Trailer

So on a lighter note.. I wanted to show everyone my new bike and trailer.

I have no more patients

So just as I was about to write this post I heard a laptop computer hit the floor downstairs..... Will this day ever end. I watched my friends kids today, listened to Lacey's many fits, Gabe's constant whinning, I donated today so I was starving until I could get some food. About 6:45 I decided that Lacey was tired and going to bed. It only took me an hour of being the meanest mom ever to get her to go to sleep......and while I was doing that I managed to get the worst paper jam in my computer that I have ever seen. I was so bad that I had to get a screw driver and take it apart. My patients was completely gone. But by some miracle I was able to get the paper out and put the printer back togeather (by stealing a screw from somewhere else because I lost one somewhere in the printer) and it worked. The first 2 pages came out blank, and I thought oh well I tried but then I tried again and miracle it worked. So that was my night.

Sometimes I feel like I am always mad and frustrated being a mom. The constant whinning and tantrums are wearing me out.........Let alone trying to keep up on the house and work 20 hours a week from home.

p.s. I also washed and dried my ipod shuffle

A Young Soul

So we went to the sand dunes today with our 4 wheel that we got a few months ago. In the moment I felt like I was 17 years old riding around on those dunes. It was so fun. When I was younger I was known to be kind of adventurous and competitive. I grew up riding 3 wheelers, driving trucks and tractors, showing cattle, playing sports, playing veterinarian, landscaping and fighting fires.......Surprise if some of you didn't know that about me.

I also was able to take Gabe for a ride and he was laughing and holding on tight. I wanted to take some pictures but when we got out there the battery was dead.

So........... the first song playing on the playlist I have been looking for awhile. I first heard it on the Mac computer commercials and I thought I really like that song I am going to try and get it. It only took me about a month to figure it out. I saw it on VH1 today while I was donating plazma. Enjoy

The Playground

There is a playground really close to our house. I took some pictures the other day and thought that I would share them. In June sometime they are suppose to finish our backyard and put a playground set right out of our backdoor. I am really excited.

Here is Lacey on the slide. She can climb the ladder and go down the slid all by herself.

Gabe loves going to the playgroud.

This is currently are backyard. At least it is not a mud hole anymore.

No training wheels

i didn't realize that he falls down at the end until I uploaded it. It is gravel and bumpy down at that end.

Sunday Morning

Well it is a beautiful morning in Rexburg. We have had the longest winter, Here it is almost May and their has been about a total of 5 nice days. Grandma and Grandpa Oldfield came up yesterday and brought Lacey her new big girl bed. She sleep in it last night for the first time. She was tired last night that she went to sleep pretty good, and then she got up 2 times in the middle of the night, and I had to put her back to bed. I am currently trying to get Lacey to take a nap. I have put her to bed about 10 times. after about 4 times I have to start giving her a spakin everytime she gets up and then put her right back to bed. I did read in the Love and Logic parenting book that spakin can be effective around 2 to 3 years old. It does seem to help me get her to bed better otherswise I think I would be putting her to bed about 50 times or naps would no longer exist. Some people lock their door but this doesn't work very good with Lacey because she just bangs on the door with her bottle. Now I am up to 13 times.

This is Lacey's new bed, that my Dad and I built.

Here is a picture of Gabe and Lacey's matching beds. Now I just need to help my mom make a valance that matched the bedspread that she made to go on the window shades.

Gabe took this picture of Me and Lacey first thing this morning. So now you all know how I look when I wake up. It is rare to get a picture of me because I am the one taking the pictures so I thought I would post it. But not bad for a 4 year old photographer. I didn't even crop it.

Snow

It snowed today a lot. It was so sad. I thought sping was coming....

Well I signed up for a personal trainer at the gym today, they were having a 2 for 1 special so my husband and I both get trainers. We are excited. Usually when i get close to the weight that I am at I get comfortable and then stop loosing weight and then I eventually put weight back on. I really didn't want that to happen so now I have a trainer to keep me moving forward to my goals.

Triatholon

So I have been thinking about doing the Rush Triatholon in Rexburg this August. I talked to a women in my spinning class at the gym about it. I have been interested in them ever since I learned to swim but it is also very scary to me. I am still slightly non commital but I think I am goin to start training for it. It is a half mile swim in open water, 14 miles bike ride, and a 5K run. So if anyone has advice I would love to hear it.

Lacey is doing better about sleeping (However I couldn't get her to tap a nap today). We are going to get her a regular bed pretty soon.

Monday, April 21, 2008

Sleeping Changes

Well I thought I would tell you what is new in my life. Yesterday Lacey learned how to climb out of her crib. As to no surprise to anyone that meant that she didn't get a nap. I knew that I would have a tough night ahead. I decided to try to put her to bed at 6pm an hour early for bed because she was tried because she hadn't had a nap that day. Well 2 hours later she feel asleep after I had put her to back to bed 40 times. So of the times I had put her in a regular bed not her crib, but she did crawl out of that crib about 15 times. She was so tired at the end that she didn't even have the strength to climb out anymore. So I was interested in how it would go tonight, thinking that it would have to be better. Well it was, it only took 6 times tonight and she decided that it wasn't worth it and stayed in bed and fell asleep.

Daily

Gabe did enjoy going to Blackfoot. He asked me on Sunday if we were going to back to Grandma's. I guess did he did have a few battle wounds.

I was thinking yesterday that I don't really keep a journal or a family history. I had this idea that I could post on here more often and make it like my family history or my journal. I could probably even print it once a year and put it in a binder. So I am going to try it, so check my blog more often because I will at least be writing a message most days.

Nice Day

Well I just got back from a 2 hour bike ride with Lacey in the bike trailer behind me. We had so much fun, we rode into town and then to the nature park and then over to the ice cream shop and then just for exercise we took a detour up to the temple. (yes it was hard) then we cruised all the way home. Shane went to try out his new four wheeler today for the first time and Gabe went with Shawn and Diane to Blackfoot for the day. Last night Shawn came over and was teaching Gabe how to ride a skateboard. I have some picture's and a video to show you. I fixed Lacey's hair today with pony tails all over her head it is so cute.!!!

Spring is coming

Today was so warm and beautiful. We went to the zoo in Idaho Falls with my sister (with her kids) and mom. We have been so excited for the spring. I took a picture of some tulips that I had for a little while but already died. Gabe learned to ride a bike this week without training wheels. It took him no time at all to catch on. I will have to take a video clip of him and post it on hear.

I discovered audible.com this week. I have been listening to an audiobook while I have been working out, donating plazma, cleaning house and while my children are watching cartoons that we have all seen hundreds of times. I really like to read but since I work from home while my children go to bed I don't have much time to read but I have found that I have much more time to listen to a book on my ipod.

Buzzlight Year to the rescue

We got a buzzlight year from ebay the other day. Gabe has had his heart set on a Buzz, but they are really hard to find now that Toy story has been out for so long. Anyway this Buzz really fly's we got such a kick out of it that we took a video out it. check it out.
