Gabe Skiing

So this was a great day. Gabe and I (Michelle) went up with Shawn and Diane to Grand Targhee for Gabe's first time skiing. He did so good. I was nervous at first because he was scared and starting to get mad. I was scooting on my knees holding onto the tips of his skis, holding it in the snowplow position (we called it making a pizza). About half way down the bunny hill i was able to let go and he was slowing himself down. For about the first hour I was just walking. I really didn't think that he would get good enough for me to snowboard (I couldn't find my ski's) because when I snowboard I knew that I wouldn't be able to help him as much. But sure enough he did improve so much that that last 2 hours I snowboarded while he skied. I was really fun. Gabe skied nonstop for about 3 hours. I kept asking him if he wanted to take a break in the lodge or keep skiing and he said everytime keep skiing.

Mike's (Shane) Graduation

Everyone is invite to come to Mike's graduation on Dec. 14th (Friday) at 7:00 pm in the Hart (but we aren't sure about the location) We have a few tickets to the large graduation with the speaker it starts at 5pm. We may all go out to eat for a celebration afterwards. This is a great occasion that doesn't come by often in the Oldfield family.

Gabe's Birthday

Well Gabe loved his 4th birthday. His Grandpa Oldfield came up the Saturday before and brought him a battery operated 4 wheeler. He loves it and can drive it really good. The problem is we have no where to store it in the trailer. But Gabe doesn't care about that. We made cupcakes for his birthday cake and all of his friends gots to blow out their own candle.

Santa

So ran into Santa at Mommy's and Me's. We only went there because the daycare at the gym was closed after 1 pm on a Saturday. But it turned out great because we got this picture. Lacey was scared of Santa so the only way she would be in the picture was for me to be in it too. So there I am with no make up (I was planning on working out not getting my picture taken)

Halloween

Well we had a great halloween. We went trick or treating for 2 hours then we went to the Teton House (a retired community) and trick or treated their and ate some dinner. Lacey did so good for her first Halloween. She didn't really make any facial expressions but she didn't cry or wine either. She couldn't believe that people were giving her candy after she knocked on the door. She was actually knocking after awhile into it. Gabe had a blast being spiderman. He rode his bike all around the houses and trailers. Some of our pictures didn't turn out We had some really cute ones too with all 3 of us that dressed up. Shane (Mike) did dress up for work last Friday and he was a rock star. He had a big long haired blond wig and tatoos all the way up his arms. They looked pretty cool. Anyway we had a great halloween and we have so much candy......

First Horse Ride

The kids were so excited to get to ride the horses (The picture by the rocks is them waiting in line which apparently not exciting). Lacey was a little scared but she did good riding with her me. Gabe was so brave to ride by himself. He loved it. He had about 5 turns, he liked riding with his cousin Kason too. Gabe and Lacey are really growing up fast. Lacey is 16 months old now and Gabe's will be 4 on Dec 5th. He is really excited about having a birthday party. He was coloring and cut paper yesterday telling me that he is making invitations for his birthday party. I feel like I am sprinting at the end of the race trying to get to Dec 16th when Shane graduates and he will start working as a licensed social worker. When that happens I will work only as a bookkeeper from home about 15 hours a week. I am so excited to slow down a little bit. We have a server at my work so I can log right into it from home through a laptop they gave me. It is an ideal working situation at home. I usually just work after Lacey goes to bed at night or during her nap time. Well thanks for reading my blog everyone !!! I sure do appreciate you.

Spray Park

When we first got to the spray park in Rexburg Gabe fell down and skinned up his knee pretty bad. That is why I don't have pictures of Gabe playing. He had to watch Lacey play the whole time. Gabe does really like the park finally, his favorite is when the bucket drops on his head. Lacey really loves it now that she can walk. she is great in the water.

Thursday, August 16, 2007

Well we have finally decided to stay in Rexburg for a few more years. Mike is going to commute to Master's school...first to Idaho Falls starting in January and then to Missoula MT... a 4 hour drive. but it is only 1 day week on Monday's and it is only 10 months long. We decided to stay in Rexburg because Mike (Shane) can get a job at his intership that qualifies for the Rural Grant program that will pay off your student loan up to $50,000 (including bachelor degrees) so that pretty much made up our minds. I always said that I wouldn't live in Rexburg because it is so expensive and there are no jobs but I am now eating my words because we made an offer on a townhouse and it was excepted. It isn't even built yet. It is scheduled to be done in January 08, but we made the offer already because we can lock in the price now. The builder has told us that they will be worth $6,000 more in January. That means they are appreciating about $1,000 a month which is actually really common in Rexburg. There is a picture (as you can see) of the kitchen in the future and also how the front of the townhouses will look.

I was trying to get pictures of Lacey's curly hair. Lacey gets her curly hair from her Grandma Oldfield that past away before Lacey was ever born (So her curly hair is a nice thing)

Family Pictures

We finally got a family picture taken at my mom's house. It was right before church we only had a few minutes. I was worse than the kids. I had my eyes closed in all but 2 of them. These are the 2 with my eye open. Enjoy

Lacey's 1st Birthday at the Beezer's Train

Lacey's is now almost 14 months old we are a little behind on updating our blog. We had a great time at the Beezer's Shortline. All of the kids loved it. We sure have enjoyed that little train, maybe some of you have too.

For those of you that didn't know, I graduated from BYU Idaho last April. It was a great day. Mike (Shane) graduates in December and we are so excited. We are planning on staying with my mom in Blackfoot for awhile to save money until we go to Masters school in either Spokane WA or Boise ID

The good looking men in my life.

Gabe Taking Pictures

This is one of Gabriels photos. I think he did a good job. We all had a really good time playing with the old camera from Shawn's mission. We have had a hard time with cameras but we finally had some .... success last night.
