Halloween update

We went to the pumpkin show in Shelley where we live for Halloween they had all these pumpkins decorated. This one is toy Story.
At the pumpkin show they had these painted pictures that you put your head in. We took lots of pictures but my kids had their head in better in these ones.



This is Gabe and Lacey for Halloween. Gabe is a star wars Jedi and Lacey is spiderman she insisted at the last moment that she should be spiderman. I felt like I had 2 boys. I thought maybe next year Lacey should be princess Leigha from Star Wars. We went to a carnival at the high school. Gabe did really good shooting this toy gun and won the best prize, they even took his picture and interviewed him. We did the traditional trick or treating. Lots of people weren't home, but we still managed to get lots of candy. The kids went to one country house that gave them a fresh bag of cotton candy.

Painting

So I have painting some more. I ripped off a bunch of wall paper downstairs yesterday, and painted the kitchen on Thursday. I will have to post some new house pictures when I am done. I am sitting hear all sweaty I should shower after my bike ride this morning but you know how addicting computers can be. Gabe is out for potato harvest. Gabe also started Karate lessons last week he loves it so far, and he listened to the teacher really good. They call it something other than Karate but i can't pronouce it yet. I washed my husband's ITunes shuffle yesterday so I am in the doghouse. I heard that if you don't try and turn it on for about 5 days that it should work. I am crossing my fingers.

New Job

So Michael Shane Oldfield (my husband) got a new job this week. He went to a 2 day training this week and should start in about 2 weeks. It is a great opportunity being kind of a traveling counselor with youth from about 14 years to 22. Most of the kids have some history with the law. He will make $25 per hour billable hours, which is a pay increase for us. We are so happy for him. All the hard work for the past 6 years of school is finally worth it.

I did a little 30 mile Charity ride for kids with disabilities today to make money so they can get adaptable bikes. It was a lot of fun.

My first Century

Well I finished my first Century. I still can't believe that I did it. I really wanted to chicken out and do just 62 but I met a nice friend (about 18 miles in) that really encouraged me to do it. It started out as a great ride. We were averaging 18 mph for the first 70 miles, when the conditions were perfect we were riding at a 22 mph pace witch is crazy fast for me. The last 30 miles were tuff though. My rear end hurt really bad and we had a head wind the entire last 30 miles. I wanted to cry during the last 10 miles because I was in so much pain. It is Sunday now and I am already forgetting how bad my backside hurt and think that I should do this again next year. I don't have many pictures. Gabe took some of me fixing my bike the night before, and i took a picture of my jersey (from the Little Red Riding Hood race) that I wore with my number on it. Also I thought the event logo was cute so I took a picture of it as well.

First Day of School

Gabe had his first day of school last week. He was so brave, he looks so grown up in these pictures. I asked him what he did and he said that they played on the playground and had a snack and the teacher talked too much. He was so happy because he met a new friend on the bus that live down the road from us.

Here is a few pictures of the inside of my house as requested. This bottom picture are actually the same room and the same color of paint. It is just different lighting. I am still going to do some painting in the kitchen but haven't decided exactly what to do.

We are alive

Well when I was laid off of my job I also lost my phone and I was unable to easily add photos and posts to my blog. I also did not know where my camera was when I was living with my mom for the past 2 months.

So we have found a cute farm house in Shelley Idaho to call home.

The best part is we are only 8 minutes from the new part of Idaho Falls, and about 2 minutes from Shelley. Hopefully we will stay here for a long time. I am sick of moving. Gabe starts kindergarten Aug 20th. I am so glad that we are settled before school starts.

Finished the Duatholon

I am just coming off of a huge adrenaline high. I was so nervous to do this race. First race of my whole life. So I started out on the run dead last. the best part about that is that no one ever passed me (except 2 major athletes that got lost and ran 2 extra miles). I passed 4 people in the run and then about 8 people in the bike. I ran the 3.2 miles faster than I ever thought I could which was 34min45seconds ish. I must have done the bike in 55 minutes which includes the getting ready. My total time was 1 hour 30 minutes. I beat my best friend by 30 seconds she almost caught me on the bike, after I got out before her.

After I crossed the finish line I went to take my feet out of the clips and my ankles cramped up so bad that I feel to the ground in pain. One foot was still even in the bike. I actually screamed in pain they hurt so bad. A nice guy came over and gave me some cramp up pills and helped myemoved my ankles some. I seriously couldn't moved them at all, and they hurt as bad as bearing children.
At least I provided some good entertainment for the crowd. Thank you for everyone who supported me and talked me into doing it.

Back to Black (hopefully brown)

So Tami colored my hair today. It was a little darker than i wanted but i like it. It is a little messy because i just got back from a 15 mile bike ride in heavy winds. It was my first ride with the teton trac club. It was a lot of fun despite the wind. The wind made it a pretty hard ride but kept it interesting.

Biatholon for Mother's Day???

Hello from me...I just took this picture...but i am wondering if it looks like me. So i just found out the the local cycling club is doing a biatholon (that is running a 5k and cycling 15miles) next saturday on the 9th of May. I think I should do it......but I am scared......But it would be really good for me.

Gabe's friend is sleeping at our house tonight and Gabe says "If you miss your mom you can pretend that my mom is your mom" How cute

This a little old but i did mean to post it and never did. This is Valentines day we walked around handing out Valentines and candy kind of the opposite of Halloween. It was fun.

Crazy Funny

So I thought that I was posting some nice messages from my cell phone via text message. I guess it doesn't work. So here is what I meant to say

Another week almost done. I love teaching spinning. I get this adrenaline hight that lasts for hours, and I can work out harder too.

Tossed to the Wayside

So about a week ago Gabriel was really sad and was talking to us about changing primary classes on him. (He used to my in his Dad's class but because of behavior problems we asked the primary presidency if they could put him in another class.) He looked at me and said "You can't just toss me to the wayside mom"

What do you say to that....first of all I was floored (but had to keep it inside) that he even had this phrase in his vocabulary. It really tugged at my heart.

But can you believe that. I guess it is from reading the scriptures everynight.

Public bathroom Nightmare

So we went to McDonalds today and Lacey was being indepenant and went to the bathroom and locked the stall so I couldn't help. when she finally opened the door their was poop everywhere, even the walls.

I survived

I did it....I made it through make first class as a spinning teacher. I was a little awkward yelling at everyone telling them what to do at first, but then it came natural (because I always like to tell people what to do) He He

No not really I am still shy about the talking part.

Now I am getting nervous

So I teach my first spinning class on Monday. I am offically getting very nervous. Actually when I think about it I want to vomit. I was so excited and I still am but I just need to be more prepared I guess.

So I am addicted to Spinning at the gym. I love it, I feel good when I do it, it's fun and it's a hard work out. I have been finding out that there is a lot of people that I know that have no idea what it is and I am always talking about it. My brother said once why doesn't she just call it riding a stationary bike?

I am going through a crash course this week and I will have my first class on April 1st at 9:30 am at World's Gym. So be there........if you are a member and live in the same town as me. I am so excited. Sorry family if you thought I was obsessed with workout out already it is about to get worse.

Cross your Fingers update

Well Shane (Mike) had is interview on Thursday. The interview went as good as it could but with no promises. It was an hour long. We decided that he will take either one of them.


I road a road bike for the first time today in Idaho Falls. I was reserving it for the charity ride in Logan. I raced down a side road in Idaho Falls at about 30 mph for about a mile. It was so fun. I am afraid I am hooked.

This picture was suppose to grab your attention. I think I have failed you.......So back to the catchy title cross you fingers. Well the man in the picture above my husband had a job interview at JCC (Jail for teenagers) in St Anthony for a technician last week and he nailed it. We were excited about that because it is a state job with benefits about the same pay. It gets better......Then they called him again Friday and wanted to interview him for a counselor position that we didn't even think he had a chance for at the same place. This would be a really good job for us. He is interviewing on Thursday so Cross Your Fingers for us. He has worked so hard, he really deserves this.

The Little Red Riding Hood

So I have fully committed to do a charity bike ride called the Little Red Riding Hood. No backing out I paid my money and everything. I am going 62 miles on a bike on June 6 Th so be thinking about me. I have been spinning a lot now for about 1 year and I love it so I thought I would get into the sport some more.

This ride is nice because it is women only and they have a lot of first timers that do it. Checkout the link if you are interested. The race is near Logan UT. Get riding......

Out Buddying Photographer

So I did a really bad job of putting these photos up.... So my little boy Gabe that is 5 years old was showing us his eye for art today. We finally got a card reader today so I will have pictures again. Gabe really took to the camera he took 55 pictures in about 30 minutes. I really like the whoppers. I told him that he could take pictures of walls. So it was so cute he has pictues of toys, toilet paper, the bathroom sink, the vacuum and the dog. I could post them all but here are some.

2008 Memories

So me and the kids looked at our blog from last year. It was fun to see how the kids have changed and what we did for fun. The kids love to see themselves on the computer. We have to watch the video of them swimming over and over and the bike ride that Gabe falls down is a big hit. And the buzz video where buzz hurts Gabe is very funny is our house.

Boy though it sure made me miss summer time. I am already excited for Summer and it is only February. This is going to be a long winter.

Week flew By

Can' t believe it is already Friday. This week flew by. I can't even remember what happened. We are just settling into our new lifestyle of me working less and Daddy working more. It going good.

Lacey is talking so much. She actually started counting up to 10 the other day when I was moving some kind of food. I couldn't believe that she was count each piece. Now idea where she learned to count. Lacey also got to go to gymnastics at the gym. The kids are suppose to be 3 but they let her try it out and she did really good so they let her going the class once a week. She loves it. I need to get her a leotard and leg warmers she would be so cute.

Gabe is doing good in preschool. He had learned lots of good life skills along with his numbers and letters. He is really growing up fast. They are just finishing up a brand new elementary school that Gabe will get to go to this fall.

Dad is liking is new job most of the time. He has a really flexible schedule and can still work out at the gym before work. He tend to work until 7:00 pm every night though. He has one client that is pretty rewarding. He picks up food for the family twice a week from the food bank and takes his client to the soup kitchen, and the WMCA to take a shower. It was the little boys birthday yesterday so Shane (Mike) took him out to eat at his favorite restaurant Godfathers Pizza.

Forgot Something

Oh I forgot to post that I lost 4 pounds last week with weight watchers.

The Calming after the Storm

Well life is Good. I am back to working from home again and I have cleared things up with my boss so things are better than they were before. I have cut back on some hours too. I am actually enjoying cleaning my house if you can believe that. I now relate computers to work which is the opposite with most of you. So sorry if I don't do that well.

My camera cable has been lost too which is why there are no pictures.

If you are feeling like you never talk to me because i seem to be too busy. Send me an email. I have mobile email on my phone. So I check emails a lot more often or texting is great. I have unlimted texting with a phone with a full keyboard.

Hello Friends and Family

Thanks Diane for encouraging me to post a blog. I was really busy in December working over 40 hours a week. I am still waiting for the stress to die down in my life.

So I tried this weightloss product called ultra 90, and it made my face break out in really bad acne. It was awful.

We are still trying to get more hours and clients for my husbands job.

My current job is really getting rocky. I have felt sick for 2 days because I don't know if I am still going to have my job or not. I really don't want to go into details on the internet.

Good news. Lacey is potty trained!! Even at night time. It was going so well that I decided just to leave the panties on at bedtime as well. She hasn't even wet to bed once. She has had a few accidents during the day. but not at nightime....I know amazing.

Good News. My face is clearing up....

Good News I am going to join Weight Watchers tomorrow.

Good News I went to a job interview today about being a tax preparer. I can get started on some online training. Even if I don't want the job they offer me I have more training and maybe I can start my own tax service business.

I do wish my life would slow down some and be less stressful. Maybe someday.
